Angel Taylor visits the store

Aware/Columbia recording artist Angel Taylor is surprised to find her CD stocked in our indie store,

but we try to be a real MUSIC store, and Ms. Taylor was very gracious, very enthusiastic about music. We love that! She asked to see our Hall and Oates cd's, and left with a nice stack of stuff for the road. She was brought to the store by rxfriend Jason Kanakis. They are currently on tour with Five For Fighting, but singer John Ondrasik is sick and they had to cancel the Seattle tour date. So, here she is in our store, getting Van Morrison cd's to go along with her Justin Timberlake. Now they are heading for Portland, and hoping for the best.
Come in and look for her new cd, and if you say you read it in this blog, I will let you have it for 9.99!

sidewalk sale MAYHEM

It's almost a regular Saturday for us in the record biz, except for one thing: it happens to also be VINYL SATURDAY!! I don't have to tell you to get down here. you already know! POUNDS of vinyl, very heavy. HOODIES, 'cause it's gonna rain. 1 dollar, don't holler cd's from the dying format. Maybe I will bring the cassettes out here. Let me do it for you.
Josh of Session City Records is out here diggin in the crates. He's already picked up that Rick James 12 inch you wanted. I'm sure there is more. Come and get it.

Zeke and Tift visit

Tift Merritt and her husband Zeke visited the Rx this afternoon to buy some music for their road trip over to Grand Targhee. We talked about Emmitt Rhodes and acoustic guitars. here is a super fuzzy photo of them from my camera phone:

Her performance last night at the Egyptian, opening for Josh Ritter, was outstanding in every way. Every time I see her she takes my breath away. She is the complete package, brains, heart and soul. Tift Merritt is a rare talent, someone who is so great, yet is unaffected and genuine.

Josh Ritter Still Available

Tickets to both shows at the Egyptian this week, that is. Ryan Peck came by and reset our whole ticket count now. There are many good seats available for the two night package, and second night as well. The first night with the band and Blind Pilot, well, you better hurry on the single seats. Tift Merritt is the opener on the second night.
